Introductions are in order
Hello everyone, my name is Aicy. I am an online illustrator but I also enjoy gaming and voiceover stuff.
I started my art journey almost 7 years ago now when I decided to walk into a BestBuy and bought my first non-screen tablet (it was a Wacom Intuous) on a whim. I fiddled around on Paint Tool SAI for some time, doing sketch after sketch but was yet too intimidated to start colouring. At some point, I fell out of interest in art, stopping for several years.
It wasn't until Hololive English first debuted, and I was enthralled by Ninomae Ina'nis at the time (she's still my favourite VTuber, or oshi, to this day), that I picked art back up. Seeing her illustration and watching her art streams revived that spark in me. Only this time, I decided to buy Clip Studio Paint and stuck with it to this day and spent more time on social media for my branding as an illustrator and made numerous friends and acquaintances that have influenced my artwork greatly.
I am continuously finding new ways to improve my art even drastically changing my art style numerous times. My goal when it comes to art itself is to be able to convey, what I often describe as, power. It's hard to articulate but this power is sort of like the "cool" factor in a piece of artwork, or a feeling of strength. As you follow me on my art journey, I hope that you can notice the improvements I am making, and keep this in mind whenever you see my illustrations.
In the past, much less so now, I've struggled with the deprecating feeling of craving social media engagement especially when it comes to pieces that I am very proud of or spent more time on. As I've navigated the online art space, I have noticed that this is a pervasive challenge that many artists encounter, many just don't show it. Thankfully, I'm starting to enjoy art more as purely a hobby now, not worrying too much about potential financial gain or brand growth quite as much anymore.
I'd love for you to follow my art journey and see what I can come up with in the future! I'm not the greatest at understanding what the audience wants so if you have any suggestions then please feel free to let me know.
Thank you for reading this,
Aicy
